THAT "AH HUH " MOMENT

The next week, week and a half went by. I tried as hard as I could to be on my best behavior with him. I hardly bitched at all. There were times that he jumped down my throat because he thought I was actually was bitching when in fact I wasn't. He said he was just so used to me doing it that he automatically thinks I constantly am. Goes to show me that he really never listens to me at all. So that's how our week went. Calm. We got along like we used to and I tried as hard as I could to make an effort to show him that I was trying. He started working at a new car dealership the next town over and I even agreed to start posting the vehicles and setting up appointments for him again. The third day when he got home from work I got right on my computer. There wasn't a damn thing he could say that I had done wrong the whole week.
That night his friend whom I can't stand came over to look at some things we were selling. When his friend left he told me that the dude's mom was interested in one of the things and was gonna pick it up. I thought it was kinda weird because by that time it was already 1am. But he assured me it was ok and said she was even gonna meet him outside of the trailer park so there was no traffic coming in that late. It made sense. A short time later I heard the Florida room door open and close. As usual, he left without saying goodbye. He never tells me goodbye. Anyway, I waited for a few minutes and then I gave him a call. To my surprise, he answered right away and told me she should be there any minute. I said okay and hung up the phone. At that exact moment, my spidey sense starting tingling. I wondered if someone was coming to pick him up instead of something. About forty-five minutes go by and my phone rings. It was him. He was still waiting and was pretty pissed off because he needed the money. I was surprised and relieved that my senses had been wrong. That never happens. A few minutes later he came back to the house and the rest of the night was blissful. I even managed to sleep.
The next morning I woke up to him rustling around and getting ready for work. One of his friends was supposed to drive him but apparently, they never answered their phone. But he assured me that he would figure it out and did what he only does when he's up to no good, he kissed me goodbye and told me he loved me. Ah huh, I said to myself. I knew I have been picking up on something the night before. I still just didn't know what it was yet. But I knew it was something that was gonna hurt my heart yet again. And I was correct...
