Throughout my 37 years on this plane it has taken me this long to figure out that each and every one of us truly are all alone. What I mean by that is people that you thought you had you really never had them at all, they're just there at the moment most the time to benefit themselves. And then when things don't go their way and everything you have is gone your just a distant memory to them and they wipe their feet and kick up the dirt in your face as they walk away and never look back.
There's so many people in my life that I really thought that I could count on and now they become strangers to me and it's sad because at that moment in time when you're around them you can't picture yourself without them and you think that they'll be around for all of your days. Then time changes and situations change and just like those people you realize that you've changed too. I'd like to think that I changed for the better which in God's eyes I know I have. Now don't get it twisted, there's people that I left in my wake and I'm embarrassed to say I may have used them myself. But I can honestly say that I learned from them, but they were just a small part in my journey in life. Some of the lessons that they taught me were good and some were bad they were lessons none the less. I believe that everything happens for a reason and every action has a consequence. The lessons that we learn we either take them with us to make us better or we turn a blind eye and don't retain those lessons and relive those screw-ups again. I'd like to think though out of all the lessons that I've learned my most important one is to always put myself above others because at the end of the day I'm all that I really have. That it really is true what they say it always has been and always will be me, myself and I.
